The children's ministry at SSCC is rapidly growing. We give all
the glory to the Lord. Apart from God we can do nothing. Our
purpose at SSCC is to influence people to know and be like
Jesus. We are a team of volunteers who want to serve the Lord
with joyful hearts. We want to influence all the children at
SSCC to know and be like Jesus. Some of the ways we accomplish
God's will is by raising the value of the children's ministry.
Our children won't always have a bible at their reach we want to
teach children scripture so they carry it in their hearts and
can pull out the word of God even in the most difficult of
times.
We have over 100 volunteers that serve in our children's
ministry! Each volunteer has to submit a
CORI form along w/attending
a new volunteer awareness training. We have a two-adult
policy, meaning, all classrooms will have AT LEAST two adults at
all times. Every room is equipped with a two-way radio and the
nursery uses pagers for the parents. We also adhere to a
sign-in/out policy.
The classes are divided up as follows:
Nursery 1:
0 -17 months
Nursery 2:
17 months – 3 years
3's & 4's: 3 year olds - early 4's
Pre-Kindergarten:
children entering Kindergarten in the fall
Kindergarten
1st & 2nd grade
3rd & 4th grade & 5th grade
The Nursery and Nursery II rooms have two paid workers in
the classroom every Sunday along w/ two volunteers. The 3’s and
early 4’s have a paid worker as well as one to two volunteers
every Sunday.
The 3 year olds – 4th grade children meet in
their age appropriate levels during the adult service. We are
currently using the Faith Weaver curriculum which is a wonderful
hands on curriculum that teaches the children biblical lessons
along with helping them apply what they’ve learned on Sunday
into their own lives.
