The Christian and Missionary Alliance

is an evangelical denomination

with a major emphasis

on world evangelization.

In the early 90's Olivet Memorial Church in Brockton, and then Pastor George McNeil, had a vision to plant a new church in the area. They began to pray for the leading of God in that direction. Enter Rob Reimer, who felt a call to Brockton, MA to plant a new church. Rob joined with George's vision and they began to plan this new church plant. A core group was formed of people who were also on board with this mission. In 1994 Rob began the first cell group with his wife, Jen, and six others from the mother church, Olivet. Together they developed community, and shared God's love with their friends who didn't know Jesus.

After a year and a half the first cell multiplied into two groups. At this stage the cells were still meeting with Olivet on Sundays. As the group of people grew under Pastor Rob's leadership the group decided to take a risk and try to begin the first Sunday services of SSCC with two full time staff members. They began a search for a Pastor who could focus on the development of cells. Through the Lord's leading Pastor Randy Richardson, now Senior Pastor of Connection Point Church in VA, joined the SSCC church staff in the Fall of '95 and began to give leadership to the cell leaders. In October 1995 there were 2 cells with 23 people and SSCC launched its first worship service. Forty eight people attended that service.

Since then cells have continued to multiply, people have trusted Christ and the church has continued to grow. Today there are 35 adult cells, with just under 400 people attending those cells, 6 teen cells with about 70 teens attending, and approximately 200 kids in our children's church on Sunday mornings. We have a combined 750 people in our church services on Sunday mornings.

In December 2006 SSCC planted a satellite church location back at Olivet, the original mother church has recently closed its doors. This new Brockton Campus will continue to minister to people in the city of Brockton and the surrounding area.

Dear Reader,

In order to know Jesus personally and become like Him you need two different tracks to run on. First, you need an inspiration track. At South Shore Community Church we design our Celebration services to motivate people to know and be like Jesus. Our desire is that people will sense God's presence through the worship and through the preaching of God's Word, and be encouraged to pursue a deeper relationship with God through Jesus Christ. However, inspiration is not sufficient.

The second track that is needed in order to know God intimately is an application track. The Christian life cannot be lived out effectively by ourselves; we need each other. We need a small group of people around us who can help us apply Gods word. South Shore Community Church is a "cell church." The cell group is a gathering of 7-15 believers who want to know Jesus and become like Him. The cell group is the back bone of SSCC. We gather together weekly to help each other apply God's principles in our lives.

The cell group features: praying for each others needs, discussing how to apply Gods Word, developing authentic relationships, contributing to others' spiritual formation, and participating in a team effort to share the Good News about God's love. We invite you to journey with us in our pursuit to know and be like Jesus.
