Pastor John Chestnut

John Chestnut is the founding pastor of South Shore Community Church. He has pastured in the Evangelical Free Church of America serving in Brooklyn, NY
(8 years) and Milford, NJ (13 years) before coming to Long Island in 2003. John’s formal training comes from Columbia International University (BA) and Grace Theological Seminary (M. Div).

John has a passion for helping people grow in their walk with Jesus Christ, seeking to make SSCC as a family of believers walking together with the King of Kings. Pastor John and Patty have two grown married sons. As well as ministering to the people of SSCC, John has been involved in short term missions in the Czech Republic for over twenty years, enjoys the outdoors, New York City, and North Carolina basketball.
